At Cardbase, we’re always working to bring you cool new features & functionality that make your card collecting and collection management experience more efficient, more accurate and more enjoyable. Today, we’re excited to share our latest tool: Card Scanning!
Registered users will now have more power at their fingertips, using Cardbase scanning to quickly identify, value, and add cards to collection. It’s fun and fast: just open the Cardbase app, go to “Add a Card” and select “Scan Your Card.” It’s simple yet highly accurate! With the convenience of your smartphone camera, you can take a photo of your card and — with over 2.5 million cards (and growing) in our database — instantly get accurate pricing & card data information.
Once you’ve verified that the reference card in our database matches what you’ve scanned, you can either add it to your collection or scan another card — which is super useful if you’re at a card show or making a trade on the go, leveraging Cardbase’s most accurate data in the industry.
Pro Tip: For horizontal-layout cards, be sure to keep the phone rotated vertically and do not turn the phone sideways. This will ensure the most accurate card scan result.
If your card does not get properly identified in the scan, it most likely means that it’s not yet in our database, but you can still add the card manually for tracking. And know this: by adding photos of your cards with each submission, you’ll be contributing to the Cardbase catalog making our service even better for you and everyone else!
While this feature is currently offered in Beta, registered users will have access to ten (10) scans a day, and Pro Subscribers will have UNLIMITED access to scanning.
