Introducing The New Cardbase Web App

You haven’t heard much from us in a while. Don’t worry, we haven’t gone anywhere. In fact, we’ve just been a little quiet and keeping our heads down while working on new things which we’re finally ready to share—and we hope you’ll help us spread the word.

Today, we are thrilled to announce the launch of our new web app for Cardbase As a companion to our popular mobile apps, existing users will be delighted to discover all the new updates with our web version—from enhancements to the design & functionality, all the way to how we are using the card data under the hood to drive a much better user experience. By listening and learning from our users, we also implemented many new features from their direct feedback and requests.

The Cardbase web app is making its debut as a beta version, which means some bugs will surely be discovered, and some features are still in production. We are releasing the site in beta for two primary reasons:

  1. To give the active card collector community a better view of our goals and what’s coming soon from Cardbase
  2. To gather as much user feedback as we can to continue improving design and desired functionality, as we keep on building further.

So that’s the deal: We’re super excited to offer this now, and if you run into anything that’s not working correctly or not loading properly, please let us know: support@getcardbase.com

We’ll be actively publishing new updates to the web version from now on, and you’ll likely see most issues fixed without delay.

What’s changed?

New design + mobile-friendly layouts

We’ve redesigned everything and are really focused on optimizing the mobile website experience. Our new apps for iOS and Android will be released in the months to come, but our website is ready for action.

Discover page — Search across all major marketplaces and shops

We created a Discover page which will serve as the centerpiece of your research, for cards that you want to buy or sold items from the past. We are in conversations with most of the major marketplaces and currently aggregating information from all available online sources, auction houses, and hobby shops. If you have any suggestions and want us to include a specific partner, let us know, and we will add it to the list.

Check out this short video to see all the powerful possibilities for search by working with the Discover page.

Historically sold items

Putting more power into the hands of our users to make more informed buying/selling decisions, we are opening up historical sales for your research, allowing you to browse through our entire archive of sold items. The feature is still in beta, and we are currently adding thousands of items from the past on a daily basis.

Portfolio Analytics — based on all filters

Now with the new Cardbase web app, you can not only view your entire card collection through numerous filters, but also closely examine your portfolio according to specific criteria (eg. sports category, player, grade and more), with dynamic results based on your filter settings. Providing these unique analytics and insights helps Cardbase users to better understand their portfolio values even better than before.

Export your collection

Many of you asked for it, and we’re delighted to make it available. Now you can export a .csv file of your entire collection. Just click on “Collection” in the menu and then on the export button in the right corner above your listed cards.

What are we working on next?

At the moment, we are very happy that you can see and start using the new product offerings of what we have been working on over the past few months. We really hope to get a lot of feedback and will continue to work on user suggestions.

Going forward, we’ll be working on improving & building up our proprietary data set. Data is the centerpiece of all our activities. Our mission is to make the data around trading cards transparent, precise, and simple to research. So currently we are concentrating on the following:

  • Improving data of selling cards across all sources
  • Improving data of sold items for millions of cards, we are already tracking
  • Expanding the number of cards you can track and add to your portfolio
  • Providing an estimated value for all cards, even if there are not many recently sold items

Over the coming months, we will be posting updates on all our progress and look forward to seeing our community grow. Stay tuned, and please spread the word to others.

Thanks for your support and keep on collecting!

Very truly,

The Cardbase Team
